Alexey Munipov
Critic and curator with more than two decades of experience. Previously editor-in-chief of Bolshoi Gorod magazine, editor-in-chief of Afisha-Vozduh, editorial director at Arzamas.academy, Russia's leading self-education platform, program director at ChekhovAPI, a creative space and research lab. Curator of M.ART, non-profit cultural organization that showcases contemporary Russian culture in London, New York, and Tel Aviv. Curator of «Yandex. Culture Marathon», educational school project. Author of «Fermata. Talks with composers» (2019), the book of conversations with 20 post-Soviet composers («Book of the year» Non/Fiction Award, shortlisted for Andrei Bely Prize). Author of workshops and educational courses dedicated to contemporary music, and a series of online music lessons made for Yandex.Textbook. He also launched the podcast and popular telegram channel and founded «Fermata. Music appreciation society».
In 2021, he became the program director of DK Rassvet, a new Moscow cultural center. DK Rassvet is an independent project and multi-format platform that strive to blend together the best and newest of Russian and international culture: new academic and alternative music, new cinema, new performing arts, theatre, literature, popular science.
